SERIO Roles: Colline (La Boheme)

Bio

Gabriel Lockheimer Toso, bass-baritone, graduated Concordia College, performing with Concordia Opera and the Fargo-Moorhead Opera. Roles include Count Almaviva in “Le Nozze di Figaro”, Ophemon in “L’Amant Anonyme”, and Father in the world premiere of Doug Harbin’s “Red’s Dinner”. He has covered Figaro in “Le Nozze di Figaro” with Fargo-Moorhead Opera. He is pursuing a master’s degree in operatic performance at Michigan State University. At MSU, he has performed Leporello in Don Giovanni and Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and is set to appear as Alidoro in La Cenerentola in March. Oratorio works include Bach’s Cantata No. 140 and the premiere of Carmen Geiger-Schultz’s Passion of Jesus Christ. Gabriel’s accolades also include three NATS Minnesota wins, fourth place in the NATS National Competition, two-time second prize winner of the Thursday Musical Awards, semi-finalist in Classical Singer National Competition and Schmidt Vocal Arts Competition, and competitor in the district round of the Laffont Metropolitan Opera competition.
