SERIO Roles: Mimi (La Boheme), Giulietta (The Tales of Hoffmann)

Bio

Alexa Zeremenko, soprano, is a native of Pittsburgh. She is excited to make her Mimì  role debut so close to home. This season, Alexa was seen in Detroit Opera’s La Traviata as a member of the opera chorus. She is a graduate of Mercyhurst University (BA) and Michigan State University (MM). With D’Angelo Opera Theater, she performed the roles of Cio-cio san (Madama Butterfly), Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Tisbe ( La Cenerentola), and Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi). While at Michigan State University, Alexa performed Mrs. Anna Maurrant (Street Scene), Lucilla (La scala di seta), and Rosalinde (Die Fledernaus). She first debuted Rosalinde as an Emerging Artist with Opera in the Ozarks.   In Pittsburgh, she has been an artist with Pittsburgh Festival Opera and community theaters. In her free time, she sings with the Michigan State University Choral Union.
